Awatere Valley Limited Partnership

A fully developed, large-scale Marlborough vineyard located in the Awatere Valley comprising of a 300-hectare family-owned property that includes 127 cha of established vineyard predominantly planted in Sauvignon Blanc (110 cha).

The current owners have had a long involvement in New Zealand’s wine industry but now wish to release some of the capital since purchasing the land in 2012 and developing it into the vineyard it is today. Such is the belief in the future potential of this vineyard that a group of the current owners have  remained as cornerstone investors.

This is an income story based on an operational investment model delivering regular returns through a grape supply agreement with Villa Maria. The company’s long-term commitment to this large-scale vineyard is testimony to the consistent quality of fruit being grown here.

There are also opportunities for further development of the property.

Awatere Valley Limited Partnership: a large-scale, established Marlborough vineyard.

Size: 300 ha (127 cha under grapes and a further 129 ha of pastoral grazing area, plus residual area).
Location: Vineyard located in the Awatere Valley, Seddon, Marlborough.
Viticulture: Currently growing 110 cha Sauvignon Blanc and 17 cha Pinot Gris grapes.
Vineyard Management: The vineyard will be continued to be managed by Berakah Vineyard Management (BVM), who has managed and carried out improvements made to the vineyard since 2012.
Agreements: Long term grape supply agreement in place with Villa Maria.
Income: The Partners will own the land and receive all the grape income. There is potential for further vineyard development and diversification of the pastoral grazing land that is not suitable for grape production.
Returns: Forecast cash returns 7.5 - 8% p.a.
Capital Raise: NZ $16.5 million of contributed capital required. Of this total amount, a group of vendor members are continuing as cornerstone investors (30%).
Distributions: Regular cash distributions.
